Me [19M] planning to leave my parents home [64M/58F] father could've avoided a stroke but lied turns out he lied about a lot of things, mother covered it up. Inherited money.
I don't know where to start. I'm so sorry if this might be a confusing read or full of spelling mistakes and it is quite late but I feel I need to get this off my chest. My native language isn't English. I'm currently a freshman in college [19M] living with my parents, mother [58F] and father [64M].
My parents are...stupid? It might seem immature but I don't find another way to put it. Wasted money on a vacation home in another country we only went to once a year thats decaying so bad it lost all its value. Ontop of that... my father was supposed to sell it... 8 years ago. When we were all waiting for it to be sold turns out it never could have been sold. He lied. That's right. For 8 years... We as a family didn't go there for 8 years and he still hadn't made any effort to sell it. He told everybody he got people working on it... made up offers he would receive. It took 5 years for him to bassicly authorize a lawyer if the house was sold that the lawyer could close the deal. Don't forget, he was born there. He speaks the native language there. We really could've used the money.
So, how do I know all this? Because he had a stroke and I was forced to take over some paperwork. Wanna know something really fucked up? He could have avoided a full on stroke if he had listened to me. His only son.
One day I came home from school and my father is cooking something with one arm "Hey son! Wanna know something funny! I can't feel my right arm!! Hhahaha! I must have ripped a joint or something!" I freak out and bassicly start asking him questions if he had any headaches when it went numb, If he can feel the arm at all. I figured if its muscle tissue you'd still feel me poking it. "OH no, it's dead. But it's alright".
My mother who believes in homeopathy and the only reason I missed school was because she thought she could cure the flu and infections with magic little water drops. So my mother and father were both scared of hospitals and went to a homeopathic doctor.. He eventually gave him an injection to revive his muscles. No idea what. I'm still like what the fuck go to the EMERGENCY?!!! Eventually the sympthoms go from a useless arm to blurred speech and a numb leg.I didn't know this at the time.
I tell my mother that hes having a stroke to take him to the ER now. She calls the hompeopathic doctor back to our house ,Geuss what, even doctor dipshit is like "Fuck me, he has to go to the ER." Well, what does my mother do? Nothing. My father avoids me and locked himself into a room and my mother kept lieing to my face about how everything was doing great. I went to school full time so I wasn't there a lot. Not like they wanted me there. Well, a couple of days later...judgement day hits and eventually my father who for some reason was so scared of hospital decides that it's the end. He lets himself get taken away. Half his body was paralyzed and his speech was also gone. I didn't know the doctor recommended an immediate trip to the ER. My mother lied and said everything was fine.
So we are in the hospital and my mother cries and wanna know what she says? "It feels like I could've avoided it. Maybe I should've listened to the doctor". Are you fucking kidding me? So I bassicly tell her to fuck off and that it's her fault and his. This resulted in us not talking for a while. Eventually I'm forced in his recovery which totally messed up my second semester. My father now has huge moodswings and is sometimes very aggresieve towards my mother forcing me to make this sortoff pact that I protect her and defend her verbally.
Thing is... I'm planning on moving out. I just can't deal with them. And here comes the kicker. I received a nice heritage. They are asking me to help pay the bills. Now, I'm stuck paying 250 a month for cable and other utillities and I have a feeling they'll start asking for more. I'm paying for school myself. They also bought a 40k BMW because fuck it (not my money). Waste it all on a shitty house and a car. And they gave away money to my fathers family because it made us look good. "The wealthy westeners". Again, I started calling that shit when I was 13. Stop giving them money. No we aren't obliged to give them 6000 to fix their roof. What the fuck?!
My mother who barely worked because she had to be a full time mother for some reason now receives like 500 a month in pension for the years she did work. And my dad who also retired receives like 800 a month.
There's to much history and I feel I just wanna wipe the sheet clean in my life. Here are some other things they done...
°Shielded me from kindergarden. Refused to let me go. In my eyes it messed up my social skills. Untill I was 6 I had only met like 3 other children.
°Refused to support me in hobbys. Basketball, soccer - you name it.
°Stole my money when I was 9. Yes I still remember it how you broke open my little safe I bought with saved money. So she could use it for "safekeeping".
°Not getting me braces - flat out refusing to let me have braces because normal teeth are better. Even though the dentist really recommended them. I looked like shit and caused a lot of problems in my life. It's not fun being 18 and wearing braces and having to pay for all the bills yourself. GUESS WHAT? THE GOVERNMENT PAYS IT BACK TILL YOU ARE 16! But oh no.. I had to wait till I was old enough to pay it myself forcing me to blow 3000. Yeah, they cost that much.
°Didn't let me have my own room. Had to sleep with them till I was 13. I also figured out they would try and catch me masturbate and watch. Like randomly force the door open when I would be in my room for more then an hour. Yes, just writing this sends shivers down my spine. My mother also openly leaves the bathroom door open when shes showering or using the toilet "Oops, didn't want you to see me". Yes you did. You've been doing this since I was fucking 10. Grow up and lock the fucking door.
°I did get everything I wanted in the form of toys. I loved toys back then. Why do homework when I can play with legos. Resuling in failing grades as well.
°Never took me seriously. In every discussion. Even now they still doubt me. But I didn't eventually get them some medical discounts so they are starting to trust me more.
So.... should I just go? I just feel so tired of it all...and I don't know if I'm just being really negative or just simply being oversensitive...
I'm a freshman in college and I could put myself through college financially no problem. I just feel so tired living here...I have ambitions to work and create my own life and my own rules. Not repeating the mistakes they did. But on the other hand I feel I should just own it and live here till they have their shit in order.
My mother already asked me if I could start doing the bookkeeping from now on and maybe I could just help around and try to balance it all with college.
tl;dr: Parents never had any ambitions in life, never really supported me. Father could've avoided a stroke but lied and my mother covered it up. Received inheritance. Feel like I'm stuck between wanting to create my own life or helping my old life. Should I just go?
