Bacon: Microsoft want's to wall of Minecraft

In a recent announcement there is something interesting to see: https://mojang.com/2015/07/announcing-minecraft-windows-10-edition-beta/

Minecraft is available on Windows, Mac, Windows Phone, iOS, Android, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, and now, Windows 10.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but why is Linux not mentioned? One of the first actions after buying Mojang is to release a Minecraft version which only runs on Windows 10. Will the different versions be able to play together? Will the java-version (i.e. the only version working on linux) get all the updates from the other versions (i.e. Windows 10)?
