Money Stolen from Home
Hello everyone, I am normally not the kind of person to go out of my way and ask for donations like this, but this is an event that happened to me and when it comes down to it, I felt the need to open a donation drive.
On Tuesday, July 28th, I had a party at my house with friends to hang out and have a good time. There were about 11 or 13 people there, all of them close friends except for three of which I did not know very well. My parents have been gone for the week for vacation, so they were not present during the time of this party.
As far as the night went, it was a complete blast, except for the moment when I returned to my bedroom after the party was over and realized I had lost 400$ from my wallet and an iPod Touch.
The shock was unbelievable, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Maybe I am overexaggerating, but when you let people into your home and house/feed them, then have that much money stolen from your private living space, it comes with quite a lot of surprise.
Then came the shock of realizing that other doors in my upstairs area were opened, doors that I had specifically closed before hand so no one would enter the rooms. There are no locks on any of the doors upstairs in my room, so I couldn't just lock any of them to keep people from going into the rooms.
I looked in my dad's room and other rooms, and it does not seem like anything else was stolen, however, I did check my dad's nightstand drawer and found an empty JCPenny box. My dad did buy his fiance an engagement ring, and I pray to God that it really is just an empty box, and whoever went through my house didn't steal the ring.
If the person that robbed me took my money and iPod, then fine, but god forbid if they took anything of my Dad's or his fiance's, then that really makes me feel shitty, because it was on my watch that it was stolen and they do not deserve having anything taken from them at all.
I realize how stupid I was to leave my upstairs so completely open to strangers, and I have learned my lesson tenfold after that night. I did not expect anyone to stoop so low and rob me of my things, and furthermore, I knew everyone there on a personal level, except for the three kids that came that were friends of a friend.
My friend that was friends with these three anonymous kids is currently trying to get the money back from them, but I know already that it's probably a lost effort. I do not want to get the police involved because my parents would then know I went back on their trust having a party when they weren't around, as well as I do not think the police would offer much help. I feel that the kids that got away with it truly have made off with the money, and at this point I just pray that they only took the money and the iPod, and nothing else.
I realize that this is a pretty petty situation, I have never asked people for donations before, and I feel greatly ashamed/embarrassed that I have had to create this gofundme. I realize that this is extremely miniscule compared to people out there with real, much more serious problems that create gofundme's. But if anyone out there would please donate even the smallest amount, that would mean the world to me. If my parents come home and realize that they DO have items missing, then I would like to at least have money to give them in return for my stupid mistake of having a stranger invade our private living area and steal our possessions.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope you have a good day.
