Brand new to Avid. Message windows look off.

Hi r/videoediting. I am brand new to video editing. I have a new computer with Avid MC on it and I am ready to start learning from tutorials and a couple friends of mine who do some professional work. I'm just bothered by the way some of the text looks completely cut off and unreadable and I have no idea what to do. Here are some screenshots:
