Cooking at UOttawa

Hi guys. I secured a residence at Rideau. I understand that there's no kitchen facilities in my actual room and I do not wish to participate in eating food that has a stark reputation for frankly being hardly palatable and blowing a minimum of $3500 (or $2500 pay as you go) for nothing. Frankly there's higher quality food as well as more quantity to cost ratio availability for the same price ($22/day) if I cook myself.

How are you guys dealing with cooking in residences that require use of a ground floor kitchen? Any tips or tricks that can be recommended? Typical useage times, how not to disturb others wishing to cook? Business?
