TIFU by being afraid to roll my window down

I was sitting at a red-light in not the best area with my room mate when all the sudden theres a knock on his window. I look over to see a young black man looking frantic telling him to hurry up and roll down the window. Thinking that this guy is trying to rob us I looked at my roommate and we both gave the look of "Im not rolling down my window". A few seconds later one of his friends is now knocking on the drivers side window telling me to hurry up and roll down the window. Regardless of what they look like I'm not one to just roll my window down when someone is giving me the command to, especially when they seem a little pissed off. My roommate then cracks the passenger side window down and the guy says "DONT MOVE! Theres a turtle under your car!" He then proceeds to guide me when to move forward and his friend reaches under my car and pulls out a turtle. So now I'm just sitting here feeling like an asshole.

TL;DR: I thought I was going to get robbed, turns out they were just trying to save a turtle that crawled under my car.
