What else is happening in literature nowadays?

So I'm not a enthusiastic of nowadays literature since most of it is concentrated in some genres that don't aplease me much. (detective novels, love stuff, sci-fi and fantasy fiction). If someone knows some good contemporary authors that write beyond these just like the old masters did it. I would apreciate if you share it with me. Specially if we're talking about worldwide known characters, since I'm not from a country that speaks english.
