substituting some solid proteins with liquid ones in a vegan diet
Hi, i'm new to all this and spent the last few days reading the articles from the sidebar, and did a ton of searches. i've been doing bodyweigth excercises for about half a year and gained a lot of weigth during this time, of which a significant part is fat. this happened after about a year of losing a lot of weigth with cardio and calorie restrictions. now i'd like to try leangains because it sounds very logical to me and because i am tired of gaining so much fat after successfully losing so much earlier. so in the "top ten fasting myths debunked" article, it is stated that liquid proteins release their amino acids much faster than solid ones. the context was that, when eating solid food, you'd not enter a catabolic state even during the 16 hours of the fast due to the last meal before the fast still releasing amino acids. with that in mind, i'd like to ask to what extent i can use protein powder shakes nevertheless. i ask because i'm a vegan and have limited solid protein options that wouldn't blow the required macro profiles to smithereens. so i'd eat a meal with a decent amount of solid protein before going into the fast, but i'd add roughly 30-40 grams of powdered protein shake with it (rice, pea, hemp etc.). now, i'd like to ask if that is enough in order to prevent the "DNG" state during the 16 hours? because, following the logic of that article, with a bigger amount of liquid protein i risk running out of amino acids during the fast. can you tell me something about this? thanks.
