First build: Budget gaming/media editing machine!!

This machine is intended to serve as my desktop machine through college. I just recently found interest in building my own machine, so I'm very new to this process.

In the past I've resorted to gaming on consoles because my computers weren't impressive enough, but I'm ready to take on this little endeavor.

Budget: soft $900 I'm willing to improve/upgrade or downgrade components if reddit can convince me!

Purchasing parts in US - Colorado.

CPU: I chose the Intel Core i5-4460 as opposed to the Intel Core i5-4690K because it's relatively cheaper, and I don't think it will inhibit me too much ... if anyone thinks it's worth the extra $$ I'd consider it.

Cooler: After reading several cooling tip columns, I've decided the Cooler Master EVO will adequately prevent the CPU from overheating for the budget price of $25.98 after mail-in rebate.

Motherboard: Still unsure on the motherboard, but the -Asus Sabertooth Z87 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard - $135.00 or -MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard - $136.00 or -MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard - $145.00 or

MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard -$115.00 (after rebate) are at the top of my list.. not sure which to choose.. if they're all rather similar, cost will determine the choice.

The rest of the components are chosen by their amount of reviews, their overall ratings, and cost.

Please give me some suggestions, recommendations, commands, and/or praises on my choices.

I'm extremely excited to order the parts, but the prudent part of me recommended I use the internet's collective knowledge to criticize my choices rather than make hasty purchases. So here I am!!
