Notes from advisors

OC

Your grace, when I was invited to Terra, the first thing I was greeted with was not the rulers of humanity, but the massive fleet overhead.

Our scanners had run a count, an approximate tally of the armada. Orbiting Terra, the fleet itself numbered over 240,000 warships. Terra itself in was more of a massive palace than a planet. The Terrans view their homeworld as almost holy, in a sense to the point where no “aliens”, or any non-human is allowed upon the world. This is not restricted to sentient species, for humans have no allowed any foreign organic items upon the planet from livestock, pets or even plants.

While Terran territory in relation to many civilizations in the galaxy is immense, it had never occurred to me how large their armed forces actually were. Apparently, Terrans dedicate nearly 20% of their budget to their military and have a massive military to civilian ratio. This has led me to believe that the empire should avoid armed conflict with the Terrans at all costs.

The last statement made was in earnest, a statement in regards to before I learned the real extent of the Terran military. Your eminence, I must inform you that the defensive fleet around Terra is only a tiny portion of the Terran army, making up less than a pittance of the entire Terran military. If any form of conflict was to spark between Terra and any civilization in the galaxy, it is doubtful that the latter of which would be capable of surviving for more than a few weeks.

It has come to my attention, your grace, that we maintain favorable relations with the Terran Republic at all costs.

Milord, countless hours have been dedicated to the research behind Terran technology and physiology. You should be informed that Terran physiology is among the best in the entire galaxy.

The average Terran is well over 6 feet tall and each weigh over 102 kilograms, making Terrans among the most physically powerful races in the entire galaxy. Perhaps having earth been a deathworld might have contributed to this. The fact that humans have sometimes accidently exterminated some of their home planet’s most vicious predators speaks a lot about them.

It is also come to my attention that Terrans are semi-carnivorous. While this shouldn’t matter too much in the entire long run of any sort of diplomatic relations (I am not expert in that field), I should advise your eminence that Terrans had in the past eaten other sentient races. The infamous Terran-Xenti war should be a ghastly reminder to anyone who attempts to make war upon Terra.

Terran technology and the secrets they hold is what truly outpaces the rest of the galaxy. Terran Capital ships are seen to at times be over 800 meters in length, while the entire galaxy struggles to create large ships that are only a quarter of that size. Terran weaponry, like their hull design is entire centuries in advance of all other major powers in the galaxy.

The largest thing I need to speak of however is the Terran ships that have been referred to as Temple-ships. In my visit, and the observation of the defensive fleet over Terra, the thing that stood out the most was the Temple-ship referred to as Gungnir.

Keep in mind, your highness, the Temple-ships are not given their names because they are places of worship, though humans do seem to venerate the ships in one form or another. From the data I extracted, the ships have connections with various ancient human religions. Their names that I have managed to record are as follows:

Gungnir

Mjolnir

Lævateinn

Aegis

Triana

Astrapi

Aorato

Pinaka

Ankh

As of this writing, your highness, only the Gungnir has been observed. You may find this hard to believe, but the mass of Gungnir is roughly 50 times greater than that of the average Terran Capital ship. Though the architecture and engineering is clearly human in design, the technology far outsteps even the best and brightest of human works by entire eons.

Your highness, it is highly recommended that any course of action involving humanity, it should be done to align with Terra.
