[Discussion/question] Has ASMR "scene" been this popular and active for a long time?

I ran across one of amalzd's videos about 6 months ago, and after diving into the different content out there, I've been a huge fan of ASMR videos ever since. Now I can hardly fall asleep without listening to some crinkles or whispers.

My question is, has the ASMR scene been around for a long time? It seems to me it's been gaining a lot of attention lately, and I find new ASMRtists almost every day, which is great.

How long have you, as a fan or content creator, been following or doing it?
