Landing a job with an associate's degree?

I know it is very recommended here to go on to getting a bachelor's degree in computer science, which I plan to do. But how likely will it be for me to get a job once I receive my associates degree? I'm taking programming in Java at my community college which will then transfer to a larger university for a bachelor's in applied computer science degree. I would really like to start working in this field while I am going to school for the full bachelor's. Is this likely to happen?
