Became good friends with a girl I met. Messaged her if she wanted to hang out one day, and she "cut all contact". Trying to understand the thought process.

Trying to figure out how this girl I met, is thinking! Your input would be truly appreciated.

So I (20) met this girl (20) at a party, through some friends. We connected really quickly, and met several times at different parties and really enjoyed talking to each other. We both said that we felt like we'd known each other for years, even though we'd just met at these parties. Basically we'd spend the parties hanging out with each other, BUT non-romantic. We didn't really flirt or anything.

So after about a month of meeting, and chatting, I decide to send her a message to ask if she simply wants to hang out. And I never got a response. Facebook "says" she haven't seen the message, but we all know she has. And not that it means the world, but no more snaps on Snapchat.

My guess is that she misunderstood my intentions. Maybe she thought I asked her out on a date? Cause I didn't mean it that way, but I know she's really careful when it comes to guys, so she might have thought it's best to just cut contact?

I really don't know.. Should I talk to her next time I see her, if so, what should I say? Honestly nothing indicated that it would be to early to ask her to just hang out?
