LPT: If you need to pull over on the freeway, do your best to stay in the damn car.

Especially if your kids are with you; tell them to stay in the damn car. It's easy to feel confident standing along the road that nobody is going to hit you, but you just can't bet on that.

I see too many families standing outside of their cars on the side of the road after breaking down, and just imagine how fast someone could screw up and how devastating it could be.

I was reminded of this a few minutes ago when I saw a family of three, including a young girl in a dress, standing outside of their car after pulling over on the left side of the road.
