Question about the Observers...

just finished watching th show for the first time, and aside from being disappointed that I'll never be able to watch it for the first time again, I had a question about the wider mythology of the show.

Are the Observers from the future of universe B, rather than universe A? Is this why they only strike after any link between the two universes has been severed; to prevent the paradox of interfering with their own timeline? Is this why Walter was the one who had to take the kid into the future; because he was actually taking the kid into the future of another reality, and ge was the one who was able to create a doorway between universes in the first place? And finally, how do I get over the pain of losing this show? Do I just watch the Xfiles now and pretend that that's a fair substitute?
