I'm Stumped on why I can't get my upgrade to work...
Okay, so I have a laptop, generic, nothing installed. It's a fresh windows 7 install fully activated.
I run the upgrade using the Microsoft download tool (rather than using windows update).
It begins the upgrade process. It says "Your PC is about to reboot" etc etc.
It reboots to a big status Circle... Black background, white text, blue circle, and it shows the progress of the upgrade.
It finishes with the "Copying windows files" etc, and then it goes to reboot again.
This time however, it cannot reboot. Instead it goes directly to "Trying to Repair".
Eventually it fails with a 0xc000000f error stating that the drive housing windows cannot be found.
I check the volumes on the disk and what do you know:
1.) Reserved: 250MB (NTFS)
2.) OS 137GB (RAW)
3.) RECOVERY 5GB (NTFS)
Yeah, it reset the file system type on the OS volume.
But Wait! There's more!
I've done this a total of 3 times, from a clean install each time. I've completely wiped the SSD as well of all partition types prior to each time as well.
I can't seem to get it to upgrade from 7 or 8.1 to 10.
HOWEVER.
I can for whatever reason, do a clean install, but then it fails activation as it does not have a valid key.
WTF Microsoft.
Does anyone have any ideas? has anyone else run into this?
