"Are there people on it?"

This is the question that a TBM family member brought up when we were all discussing the recent "second earth" discovery by the Kepler program. I immediately chimed in with saying, "It would be near certainly impossible for two evolutionary timelines to parallel eachother like that, even the differing mass of the planet would cause life to evolve much much differently due to the larger gravitational force." The family member who had posed the question then says, "well we know that there are multiple planets with people on them." As the icing on the cake, my Grandfather, who is a fucking chemist, smugly smiles and says "worlds without number."

I can't take this anti-science lunacy.
