Windows 8 Automatic Repair loop! Can't boot!
Hi everyone, here is some context:
I had decided to uninstall Avast in order to try a different antivirus. After having done so, I thought it was best to reboot (I have not installed another antivirus yet at this point).
That's when I get hit with this error: Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC
Log file: C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt
I checked out the text file using Command Prompt and found 3 unsuccessful lines saying the Root Cause is "Corrupt Registry"
I can't seem to find a working solution anywhere. I don't own a WIN8 disk.
One solution I saw was to go into BIOS and to switch boot priority from Windows Boot Manager to my HDD. I do so but when trying to boot, I am told I need to "Reboot and Select proper Boot device". So BIOS sees my HDD but can't seem to find the Windows installation on it?
I realize I haven't added much system specs but without booting I'm not quite sure how/what to list other than I'm using Window 8 Pro 64-bit. Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
(At the very least I'd like to know if there is a way to retrieve some files from the hard drive as I have no backup :c )
