Thinking of getting some turtles, don't know what type!

So I've always wanted to have pet turtles and now I am able to have some. But the only problem is I Don't know what kind to get!!! I want a turtle that isn't always swimming and I can have in a dry tank made of wood or glass. I was thinking a Box Turtle might be a good choice. Any ideas?
