MIDI keyboard stops being recognized when using a USB hub only once Logic starts.

Hey guys, I've been a lurker here for a while, so I'm glad that I have something to post!

My current setup is Logic Pro X (latest version) and OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 on a Mid-2014 Retina Macbook Pro. My issue is as such: I have this USB hub and this controller.

Here's the thing: When using Audio Midi Setup, OS X has no problem reading incoming MIDI signals from the controller when it's plugged in directly to the computer. Neither does logic.

However, once I use the keyboard through the hub, Audio Midi Setup acknowledges MIDI signals successfully until I start Logic. Once Logic launches, all signals from my keyboard are ignored by both programs. Regardless of what I have plugged into the hub, this issue remains. The hub is hooked up to wall power, also.

I looked at the USB devices section of System Report (previously called System Profiler), and strangely enough, my controller is recognized regardless of whether I have Logic open or not.

Stranger yet, Audio MIDI Setup also greys out the controller when I unplug it from the hub, and un-grays it when I plug the controller back into the hub. So the device is being recognized, but MIDI signals are simply not coming through.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? At the very least, some further troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated :D
