[Build Help] Need some advice for a gaming PC, including room for upgrades when/if needed

USD$

###Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Gaming, I'm upgrading from my old rig with an i5-2500, in which Ive only upgraded the GPU since from a 560ti to a now 780. This build is aimed towards being expensive without inching on overboard with SLI's into madness.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

I want to enjoy games the way they are meant to be seen, maxed out settings on 1440p, would prefer 144 fps since I most likely will be getting myself a 144hz 1440p monitor shortly after the PC

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

~$1500-1800 give or take a hundred

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

I'll be purchasing in Sweden, the price is not so much the worry as to the parts. So I rather focus on the "why's" or "why nots" for any specific part.

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

The reason for upgrading (if one really is needed) is that I'm moving to another, more expensive, country, and would like a beastly computer which will suffice for a couple of years at least. My last complete new rig was bought back in 2011 and has since only had the GPU upgraded.

Apart from the i5 vs i7, in which I'm fairly set on the i7 just 'cause I think it will give me more longevity to the build, I'm mainly wondering if it's worth waiting for Skylake at all, or can I justify buying this either way?

750W PSU to have room for a possible 2nd 980Ti for whenever it may be needed.

Feel free to hit me up in the comment field with any sort of input really. I'm heading off to sleep right now though so I will check this post first thing tomorrow morning (2 am here).

(Sorry if any part of this text was poorly worded, or if I misspelled anything, english is not my native language but I do my best).
