With the current colonial ventures by the Duchy of Lorraine the Duke requested a meeting with Papal aids to discuss the formalisation of a treat guaranteeing rights over the claimed land pictured here: map.

The Pope's aid studied the map and deemed it fair in the eyes of God, providing the Duke continued to be a faithful Catholic, and maps of the region were brought to the Pope to satisfy his curiosity.

The Pope considers all territory in the region denoted the property of Lorraine, and has deemed this the Treat of Nancy.
