[Spoilers][DISC][CN]So I just finished Douluo Dalu....
Without spoiling anything, while there are some flaws here and there, and it feels like the author kind of changed some of his intents midway, overall the story is one of those 10/10 in my heart and 8~9/10 overall.
Minor(Major Spoilers for upcoming translations censored) spoiler starts here:
Starting from the part where Bibi Dong separates the gang, up to about chapter 160~ and then some -- I really want to say that these parts were my favorite parts of the WN. I haven't actually read a novel and cried before and this was my first time. The way it tackles family and love and during these arcs really tugged on my heart strings and the author really did it extremely well. I almost couldn't stop tearing up from arc to arc to arc.
Major Spoiler for upcoming translation
These was the major climax for me, and even the ending arc didn't climax as hard (except for bits about Grandmaster and Tang San, I love the way their relationship was handled as well), but it was close.
Maybe it's because I read it in the original format that I got so emotional, I hope Bagelson do the raws proud.
Heads up for those who finished and felt it ended slightly abruptly, Douluo Dalu 2 (yes it exists) has a prologue that's kind of a continuation, I haven't read it all yet so I don't know how much the original cast story is continued but just the prologue is already kind of satisfying closing for me.
It's major spoilers for those who haven't finished DLDL, so don't even bother for your own good. You might not think so, but trust me, it'll ruin the upcoming arcs for you.
Anyway, I just felt I had to share this. Even MT didn't make me cry and that was a really well written LN/WN. MT was just really heart warming.
This has real ups and downs that MT didn't hit for me, even though the writing might be slightly worse.
So, thanks for reading if you did, anyone who is waiting on translation and couldn't help but read this I hope I didn't spoil you much, you're in for a great read especially from now on after the Slaughter City arc.
