My First EDH Deck: Eesha Equipment Voltron
Hi there, r/edh. I learned of EDH around when I ended up dropping Magic for a while (around Mirrodin), but I've never had a deck for it. I recently got back into the game through drafting, but of all the constructed formats EDH appeals to me most. When going through some cards I picked up in a Fat Pack last time I was thinking of getting back into the game, I realized I had some cards that would serve well as upgrades to the mono-white 2014 precon (particularly, a Stoneforge Mystic). After reading through this helpful thread, I put together the deck linked above.
I chose Eesha as a general because her protection from creatures should be useful in racking up commander damage (also, I remember her fondly from when I was a kid). While Isamaru has an aggressive casting cost, I think I would need to give a lot more unblockable support if I ran him (unless I'm missing something obvious). Eight-and-a-Half Tails seems interesting, but while I'm getting used to the different tempo of EDH, I'd rather not have to deal with the heavy mana management he seems to require.
To start, I'd like to spend only about $50 on the cards not included in the precon (near mint, when possible). Obviously, I'll eventually want some Swords, Batterskull, and the Kadra equipment, but I think support cards like Exile are more of a priority than specific equipment. Cards I already own include Stoneforge Mystic, Sword of the Animist, Relic Seeker, and Day of Judgment. As such, the current total for the remaining cards runs somewhere around $55. Cards in the Maybeboard are those from the precon that I didn't use, and the full precon list can be found here.
As I said, I've never constructed an EDH deck before, so I'm sure there are some glaring errors and omissions. Any recommendations and advice are welcome, especially if there was something in the precon that I left out that should be included.
Edit: I accidentally a link.
