Moving to Gentoo

I'm quite familiar with Linux. I've been using it for 3/4 years, although inconsistently. I've gradually move up to more 'difficult to use' distros in this time. I moved from Ubuntu (and it's variants), to OpenSUSE, then to Arch. For the fast few months, I've been using Windows and Linux Mint VM. Recently, I decided to take the plunge to update to Windows 10 (my mistake). Now, I want to immerse myself in the Free Software/Linux/Hacker Culture, and learn a ton more about the Linux ecosystem. I think that diving into Gentoo would help me do this. I made this post in an attempt to get some validation, and to get some advice about this immersion process.
