Do you guys use seperate Audio software such as Audacity while LP'ing?

Hi folks. Im new around here and I need a question answering. I am genuinely impressed with the audio quality on the better LP'ers videos and I winder how they do it.

Im using a Blu Snoball mic with a pop filter and Shadowplay does the quality of the mic no favors. I did a session and ran audacity side-by-side with shadowplay and the quality went through the roof after balancing.

So, is that how you guys get good quality? If not, how can I improve the audio in shadowplay? (Or what programs should I be using)
