[ALL SPOILERS] For those of you who are watching the show for a second or third time through, did some of your favorite characters change each time?
I watched the first three seasons with my dad who did an awesome job explaining the Song's background and reminding me about certain characters, and then I watched S3 and S4 with the rest of my family as they aired. Some of my favorites on my first time through were a little odd I think...
-I really liked Jorah, I remember him being my absolute favorite character. I just really enjoyed his silent, sullen, badass ways. (The Mormont Way... c: ) -I also really liked Sam. I have a very strange place in my heart for young men and boys who haven't a place in the world, and Sam really fits that description. I also have a soft spot for that one character who really is just a dude who is most certainly not fit for the situation. Kind of like Samwise from The Lord of the Rings. (An odd parallel there don't you think, Martin? c; ) -I enjoyed other characters of course, Tyrion, Arya, The Hound, Jaime, but I think my first time through Jorah and Sam really rang in as my absolute favorites.
My SECOND time through, things changed a lot!
Of course I still enjoyed Sam and Jorah, but I found a lot more love for characters who I didn't before.
-Jon's true honorable badassness is so powerful during every moment of the show. I truly love Jon with all my heart, and it makes knowing his fate all the more painful. -Theon, surprisingly, is another favorite of mine from the second time through. One line in particular really turned my thoughts on him around... "My real father lost his head in King's Landing." https://youtu.be/CYhTFbd_NhI?t=177 Nothing but a lost Ironborn raised as a Wolf, and shunned by everyone around him... I don't like Theon for what he did. But I feel for him. Another boy with no where to belong to in this world. -Tyrion's sassiness made me laugh three times as harder than I did the first time through. I seriously couldn't wait to get back into season 2 during his Hand days. Seeing him make good friends with Varys is fun, listening to Tyrion and Bronn banter is awesome, and watching Tyrion slap the living hell out of Joffrey is incredibly satisfying.
To be honest the list goes on a lot longer than this, but I'd like to hear who are some of your favorites, whether its your first time through or your second time through, or hell, your eighth time through!
