1.e4 {Preface: I'm currently quite sleep deprived, and am piecing together my thoughts from the game which happened 2 hours ago, without much reference to the board. The notation from this PGN string is sufficing, as I have a little blindfold experience. Please excuse any inaccurate or missing calculations that may arise as a result. My fondness of this game stems from moves 12 onwards. The opening moves of mine, although serving more purpose than my opponent's, were quite weak at times, I believe.} c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.Nc3 a6 4.d4 cxd4 5.Nxd4 Ne7 {?? haven't seen this before} 6.Bg5 f6 7.Bh4 {I think it would have been wise to keep my bishop on the c1-h4 diagonal, as the misplaced knight could move with tempo. I saw that 8. Qh5 could be a move following Ng6, with f4-f5 to follow, inducing further weaknesses. Would this have been a better move to play right away?} Ng6 8.Bg3 Nc6 9.Bc4 Nce5 {I was anticipating an exchange of knights. This is probably better for him though, especially due to outpost on c4, blunting the bishop} 10.Bb3 b5 11.f4 {could my move order have been an issue here? Perhaps 11.Qh5? or 11.a4 bxa4 12.Bxa4 where e6 is now loose} Nc4 {This was a pain. Immobile bishop. In some lines the c4 knight could be pinned due to pressure on the e pawn. I was aware of the Black king's central location.} 12.Qh5 Ke7 {I spotted the fork on c6. If only I could take the e6 pawn with my bishop! But then I saw:} 13.O-O-O {Nc6+ threatened, as well as Nxe6 followed by f5+} Bb7 {funnily, although this is what I consider to be the only move due to my threat of Nc6+, there isn't really much choice for black in this position regardless} 14.f5 {making moves to open the centre} Nge5 {black wants to keep the e file closed} 15.fxe6 {protected by the knight, so the King cannot take. dxe6 is met with Nf5+!. dxe6 also makes the f7 square much more sensitive.} d6 {My aim now is Bxe5. Nxe5 is forced due to Qf7#. This opens the bishop's diagonal, to defend the e pawn} 16.Bxe5 Nxe5 17.Nf5# 1-0[/pgn]
