So how's the community?

My friend has been asking me to play Mabi with her (we tried it once years ago and haven't played since, but it looks way different now!).

Anyway, I suppose I'm just concerned about the number of players, and whether or not there's an active community at all. Could someone give me an idea of what to expect?
