Birth control kills labido

My (m) SO (F) is on the nuvaring and it absolutely kills her sex drive. She was thinking about switching back to the copper IUD, but she gets debilitating cramps and bleeding when her period hits. It also slipped out of place which is why it was removed (higher chance of that happening when you haven't had kids yet).

Anyone have a similar experience? Was there a hormonal birth control that kept the labido and sex drive up?
