[Troubleshooting] Crazy Temps with New Motherboard and Case

Yesterday I rebuilt my computer with a new motherboard and case as I'm trying to downsize my rig a little before I go to college.

Everything went swimmingly and everything worked perfectly like it did before the switch, but then I updated to Windows 10 and when the computer finally turned back on the CPU was up at 80°C so I shut it off and let it cool down and turned it back on. Everything was fine down at 30°C like it is normally. I then left to go see some friends but left my computer running.

When I got home, I fired up my computer and was greeted by loud fans and extremely high temperatures. I turned it off and went to bed. When I woke up, same thing happened. Super high temperatures. I'm wondering if that has something to do with the new components or maybe I just didn't seat the cooler properly.

Some things to note: -I have a i7-4790k -the new motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 -new case is a Corsair Air 240 -cooler is a Deepcool Gamerstorm 120 -I can definitely here a water rushing and dripping sound, but I have confirmed there is no leak in the cooler.

Should I try reseating the cooler? Is my cooler busted? Is it a problem with any of the new components? Thanks in advance for any help:)
