Anivia Lane Matchup's Guide (A's)
Hey all, I am a 1000+ (maybe closer to 1500) that has had a passion for play this beautiful bird since summoner level 1. Played anivia only all the way to level 30 on the back end of season 2. Fortunately I still main her this day and still love her like I did the first time I locked her in.
So I am here to give you. The aspiring/Anivia mains a quick guide to each common lane opponent you're going to see in the mid lane. I currently have the A's completed and am not really sure how long my text can be so i'll just keep it for the A's for now. I WILL be making more in alphabetical order as the days go by hopefully I will be done by the end of this week all the way to Z. Apologies if my formatting is off. Hope you all enjoy.
-----Ahri----- Difficulty Level 7/10
Sugested Summoners: Flash, Ignite
Starting Items: Doran's + Biscuits
Pre-6: Absolute skillshot dodging contest for Anivia.
You know Agnes the little girl from despicable me where she's shooting the ducks with the ping pong gun. You are the duck and Ahri's orb is the ping pong balls.
Your goal is to farm and dodge farm and dodge that's it. You can throw the occasional Q out to see how good they are at dodging skill shots. If they are not so good Do your best to get your combo in there when the stun lands. Other than that if they are good at it then it's stronger to wait for the counter engage when a charm hits you because that is when they are going to full combo and due to cast times with spells. If you fire your Q she can throw her E at you. Her E will travel much faster than your Q you may be able to have the Q cross over her but you won't be able to activate the stun portion and she will just walk away.
Post 6: Match up get's a little more awkward. You can now E+R Combo her but you Q becomes infinitely less effective due to her ult or at least until her ult is on CD. Pretty much you will want to exclusively use your Q for defense if she tries to sit on your beak.
Ideal Laning Items: T2 Boots, RoA, Tear
-----Akali----- Difficulty 3/10
Starting Items: Doran's, Biscuits
Sugested Summoners: Flash, Ignite
Pre-6: Pretty much the hardest portion of this is to keep track of when her Q CD is up. Force her to farm with her Q by sending relentless harass and zone her out of melee range by just mashing Q+E combo in her face.
Post 6: HILARIOUS is all I can say. The amount of Kill Secures I've had on Akali's dropping their Stealth to try to hide from me with Low HP. Just drop the ult on their stealth bubble and botta boom dead ninja.
Anyways this lane just turned into a cake walk. She's got alot of burst... But not as good as yours :). Just Hard Engage her with the E+R combo wait for her to engage on you and just sit in your ult. Literally start building your nest right in the middle of mid lane and when she messes with you on your nest Q her right in the mouth. by the time she realizes she's losing the trade while in your ult your E will be up again and Good night sweet princess.
At this point she has three options. Roam, Come back to lane, Or afk because they cannot transcend the salt.
They roam: Push in their tower til falls.
They come back into lane: let them push into you and then rinse repeat above.
They afk: report them for not helping you increase your KDA.
Ideal Laning Items: T2 Boots, RoA, Tear
-----Annie----- Difficulty 5/10
Starting Items: Doran's Ring, Biscuits
Sugested Summoners: Flash, Ignite
Pre-6: She's going to push you into tower early. Her Shield is just going to make your burst look like meh. There are high chances for her to bully you. Attempt to throw your Q+E combo whenever you see her stun down. Do your best to keep up in farm.
Post 6: She's probably built Catalyst and you probably have as well. She doesn't have enough burst to one shot you yet as long as you play it smartly here she won't late game either. Jungler Ganks determine the outcome of this lane or it turns into a straight farm lane.
Ideal Laning Items: T2 boots, RoA, Haunting Guise (if ahead go for Void Staff)
-----Azir (the amount of bird on bird violence makes me cry)-----
Difficulty 9/10
Starting Items: Doran's Ring, Biscuits (If going 21/9/0 Go flask and pots this matchup sucks)
Sugested Summoners: Flash, Ignite (Optional: Teleport/Revive... JK don’t do that revive doesn't even exist anymore)
Pre-6: You are super squishy with no great defenses. Whenever you want to farm if he's good they will just wait for you to go up for an auto and just Q you and then AA a few times because you have crap movement speed. This matchup literally exposes every single weakness anivia has. Do you best to farm under tower don't bother trying to combo because his hit's way harder and you will lose every single trade.
Post 6: Matchup gets slightly easier because at least you can combo trade effectively and still come out ahead but if he decides to all in you and you're not in your tower range you'll be waving hi at Azir from the fountain.
Ideal Laning Items: T2 Boots, ROA, Chalice
Thanks for reading. See you on the next list!
