I just wanted to say that I'm sorry.
I have commuted in a car for 10 years. And I have to admit that I was not always the nicest to bicycle commuters or bikers on the road in general. I haven't ever yelled at any, or hit any, or thrown anything at any, but I have on numerous occasions not given them a safe amount of space when passing or passed too quickly.
I have recently started commuting to work on a bike and now fully understand the difficulties a rider faces. Just in the 3 weeks I have been making my short 1.5 mile commute, I have been passed very closely and excessively fast, pulled out in-front of, and yelled at. I wasn't even breaking any of the road rules. Just riding like everyone in this sub does.
It's rough out there. I'm sorry I was one of those dudes making it more difficult than it needed to be.
Be Safe.
