Do you have a sand bath for your hamster?

I keep a sand bath in my hamster's habitat because she has a tendency to run in her wheel, pee and poop, run again, stop, pee again.. therefore spraying pee all over herself and the surrounding bedding.

She's never used it, and has never shown the slightest interest in it. Does anyone else use a sand bath for their hammy? How did you get them to use it?

EDIT: Thanks for the advice everyone! I adopted my hamster at about one year old from a local pet shelter, so I think her habits (such as peeing in the wheel) are pretty set. I did put treats at the bottom, but my hamsters also tried to eat the sand. :( I'll try playing with her around the sand more often.
