A question about Adsense and Mobile Design.

I've been working on a website with responsive design. My solution to the ads messing up with the layout was to use two sets of ads:

<div class="hide-on-small-screen">
    <!-- big adsense code here -->
</div>
<div class="show-on-small-screen">
    <!-- small adsense code here -->
</div>

I've looked into Google's policies, but couldn't find anything about it. Is this an OK way to handle this problem?
