Whatever happened to the Akai Tom Cat?

We stopped hearing about this device it seems like. Sweetwater even still lists it as coming out "this spring", and it's almost the end of summer! I played with the Rhytm Wolf a few times, and like most thought it was pretty bad, but I also felt like there was a good drum machine in there somewhere. The kick had potential, the snare sounded mostly bad but you could find a very tiny sweet spot where it was good. I'd hoped the Tom Cat would be the drum machine the Rhythm Wolf could have been. Anyone know anything?
