Unable to install patches in 7 after cancelled windows 10 upgrade
I am using windows 7. I thought I wanted windows 10. I reserved my copy, and let it download. I had a vague plan of using the files to create an iso to install in a vm, but I was mostly just downloading it for the heck of it.
After download, upon realizing I basically have to install it now or within 3 days, I read up it and decide I don't want it. I kill the update task and remove KB3035583 as per internet instructions after cancelling my reservation. I remove the downloaded files.
Now I can no longer use windows update to install security patches. If I start applying the new patches released yesterday, it begins the windows 10 download and installation procedure. Any ideas? Im terrified that upon a reboot its going to install Windows 10, and the rollback to 7 will break. Yes I have backups, but the idea of rebuilding this particular machine is a nightmare.
