Having an existential crisis. Media literacy? Film studies? Digital humanities? Help!

It's always been my plan to go to grad school. I majored in film studies and wrote my thesis on the presentation of migration in contemporary Italian film. My thesis was ~80 pages long and was a year long project. I'd like to continue with media studies in the future. My original plan was to go to grad school and pursue research in media literacy education/media production education (I have video editing and studio skills as well)

I recently had a conversation with a former boss of mine, however, and he had some reservations about the future of media literacy. i.e. if it's required to be taught in public schools, it'll be a watered down version. I'm worried I'll be making a mistake if I pursue this field now.

I'm considering going the digital humanities route even though I'm not entirely fascinated with the field of tech/coding/comp sci. I'm worried, however, that I won't be able to come up with a cohesive plan when it comes time to apply to grad school if I turn my attention towards the digital humanities since it's such a vast field and I'm just coming up with this plan rn.

TL;DR Having doubts about what to go to grad school for. Worried I won't get any sort of job after I graduate. Help?
