Should drug or credit testing by employers be permitted?
I don't think that employers should have the right to drug test either their employees or their applicants, except in cases where public safety is paramount (ie. Airline Pilots, crane operators, etc.) or in cases where the individual is handling classified info, such as intelligence etc. I don't think it is your employers business whether or not you use drugs recreationally in the privacy of one's home. Nor do I think it is the employers business what you do after you leave work. (This is the same reason I vehemently oppose any consequences from employers for actions on social media. One is entitled to speak their mind, and should not be punished for doing so outside of work hours, regardless of the statement made.)
