Should I ask my potential boss this question?

I'm emailing with this guy about a job and I noticed a couple times he used really poor grammar or word placement, I'm thinking it's just not his first language so my question is, should I ask if this is his second language? I really don't want to set up an interview with someone who ends up being that stupid. Plz&Thxx
