Looking to invest in professional Streaming hardware and peripheral/props. What are your favorites?

Discussion

Hi there,

I'm looking to build a full streaming set-up for my company and have been researching the best hard and software as well as thinking about what kind of peripherals I'd need.

As the cost of equipment will be carried by the company I've got a fairly good budget to work with I reckon. I've figured that I need the below things but wanted to ask what your thoughts are on whether they're necessary and which ones would be best-in-class for streaming purposes. Any information about any of the below would be most appreciated :)

  • Green screen: Perhaps a pop-up oval Greenscreen?
  • Camera: Webcam or regular handheld? With a handheld we would be able to use it for company events as well so that might be useful.
  • Tripod: to hold the camera is handheld
  • Microphone/Headset: I know there's already lots of information about this here so no need to discuss it in depth unless you're very passionate about it.
  • Soundboard: To play jingles or to manually configure channels on the fly
  • Extra Video capture card for dedicated PC: We already have a number of monster PCs, but are just missing the extra GPU -Lighting: The room we'll be using doesn't have optimal light so a lamp that isn't hotter than the sun when pointed in your general direction would be good. -Reflector: for the lamp and to create ambient rather than spotlight lighting

Did I miss anything? Is there something you've found invaluable when streaming yourself that you didn't think you needed initially?

Thanks for the help everyone! :)

PS: I thought Amazon's listmania would help me here but apparently they got rid of it! D:
