[Build Help] Build now or later?

Hi, recently my laptop has died so I thought now would be about the right time to finally get around to building my own gaming PC. I'd like to get back into gaming asap so I'd ideally want to buy the parts now, however I was wondering if it's worth waiting until later in the year. Do holiday sales such as Black Friday/Cyber Monday generally offer significantly lower prices on PC parts, and how are prices likely to change between now and the end of the year? As this is my first time buying parts I have no prior knowledge of how prices vary at different times of year.
