Looking to allow users to login and track items on their account

I will start off by saying that I'm new to Wordpress but I've done hours of googling and looking at the source codes of other sites to try and find a solution. One of the major components I would like for my site is to allow members to login, search a database of information for certain items, then mark which ones they have, don't have, etc. And if the item is not included in the list, they can submit it themselves.

I understand that this is actually multiple processes:

*member login function which I was planning on using the plugin Paid Membership Pro

*Tracking data in a table

*Forms for submitting new data

Does anybody know of any plugins that perform the tasks I'm looking towards using or specific methods of coding either php, html, java to perform the function?
