Issues connecting to external monitor.

So I recently started a new job that requires me to use an external monitor with my laptop. I had the laptop (Dell Latitude E7440) hooked up to a Dell Monitor (unsure the specs). I had been using a HDMI -DVI cable to connect the two (Laptop HDMI, Monitor DVI) and everything worked fine up until around an hour ago.

It should be noted that this happened after I downloaded, not installed, SQL Server 2012 Express and SQL Server 2012 Express SPV 2. Not sure if the issue is related to this, but as with anything Tech related, I know it is good to include details.

The Laptop runs Windows 8.1 and I had been using the Extend Screen function to project it to the second monitor with no problem until now.

The issue is that now when I turn the monitor on, all I get is:

"Auto Input Power Saver Mode On"

And then the screen goes blank.

What I have tried:

-Used a new HDMI - DVI Cable, same problem.

-Used a new two different monitors (both Dell), same problem.

-Extensive Google-shooting, nothing came up that seemed to resolve the issue.

-Search feature on r/TechSupport, a few links that looked promising, but nothing resolved the issue.

If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem may be, it'd be great to hear them.
