Never worn liquid foundation before and now Sephora is giving me conflicting information
I received a sample of the Armani Luminous Silk foundation and I really liked it! I wear powder foundation (Mac Studio Fix NW25) and it has done well, but I was really impressed with the texture the Armani foundation gave my skin.
The last time I went to Sephora to get my Color IQ read I was 1Y06. Last night the first girl read me at 3Y08. That girl went on break and another one read me again at something bizarre like 6Y something (I don't remember the second number)
I am a white girl, Western European extraction and my veins are a solid blue in my wrists. Yellow clothes make me look like a warmed up corpse.
The Sephora girl was trying to convince me that I had definite yellow undertones. She said to press fingers into my wrist and that the color when I released would be yellow...not really persuasive as I didn't see yellow at all.
Now I am left with a sample of the Armani foundation in 6.5 (medium to tan skin with warm undertone) that looks "ok I guess" and am really confused as to how I suddenly "have yellow undertones" when I have always been neutral to slightly pink.
Any advice on how to better pick my color? I am thinking to just get the 5.5 color (medium with neutral) but before I spend $62 I want to have more confidence in my choice. Thank you!
