What stops me from starting

The biggest thing that stops me from starting is not knowing how I'm going to sell the product. I have zero connections and no social media followers (for myself). I have no idea how to get the word out to other people about something I may make. For example, one of my projects is a PB&J spray, like reddiwhip. I thought about it one day and found that there is a sore lack of it for sale anywhere. The only non whip cream spray I can find is either cheese, or peanut butter for your dog. So sounds like an opportunity right? But how the hell would I sell it? I have no idea on how to use social media today to get the word out, to get any inkling of virality or traction. And this isn't just about whipped cream, this is about all the things I am working on. Some more technological than others. Getting the word out to get it sold is my biggest block to starting up. I've ran a small business (like side business size) before, and I just used one article in a very small news blog about the industry and lots of Adwords to spread the website. But you know what, that's not going to work for products where you would need tens of thousands of dollars to kickstart. And don't get me started on Kickstarter. I have zero idea how to get something traction on social media. Basically I have no idea how to get the word out like the professionals. I don't really know what I'm asking for here but I guess it's what do you do to get the word out about a product of yours?
