Extremely heavy object moving service?
I am opening a pool hall in Japan soon and have to move 15 pool table slates (roughly 90kg each and awkwardly shaped) and some restaurant appliances from the first floor of my building to the second floor (no elevator) I've been looking for a contractor to move everything, but searches generally come up with regular moving companies or benriya.
I asked the moving company that helped me move in if they were able to move the slates, but apparently they can't due to some kind of regulations (or the surveyor just thought it wasn't worth the effort and made up a BS excuse).
I asked a benriya for a quote and they said 8 man to 10 man. Which sounded a bit high considering the move is within the same building. I am guessing this would be a fairly easy job with the right equipment, such as a stairclimbing dolly.
Does anybody know if there is a name for contractors that specialize in moving heavy objects up stairs (or by crane if that is an option)? Also, what is the normal going rate for a job like this (if there is a normal rate)?
Thanks.
