Anyone here ever have jock itch?
I need help
It's a fungal infection that thrives where you're assuming and it's persistent! Normally it's common in overweight individuals, as it thrives in warm sweaty areas, but as runners we are also vulnerable. I have it and I can't get it to go away. I'm currently running 75 mile weeks to train for college my cross country team and I'm doubling usually 3 times per week. The problem is that the liner of my running shorts cause a battlefield down under every run. Stopping to run is not really an option for me, but I want it to go away so badly. Has anyone else experienced this? I've gotten a prescribed anti-fungal cream that's worked to no avail. I've also heard that changes in diet like eating more garlic and avoiding carbs ( :( I need the energy!) help.
update: went to doctor. got antibiotics, can't be in the sun because I'm likely allergic to the meds (nice) so I'm taking like 4 days off. also got another cream. Pretty pissed, but I gotta do what i gotta do.
