Got a possession charge during the beginning of the year and finally got it dropped!

So I got busted a while back with my friend because I didn't come to a complete stop. We had just finished a J and the cop smelled some tree. The cop told me that if there was some tree, I would only have to pay a fine. Fell for it and little did I know there was much more to that. Being in CT and it being decriminalized, especially under 21 is much more than a fine. You get your licensed suspended for 2 months. I told him the truth and he let me go with possession of less than 1/2 oz. I didn't really know what to do especially since I had to tell my parents and whether or not to plead guilty. Well I plead not guilty and got a lawyer as soon as I got my court hearing. My lawyer told me that it could go 2 ways. I can do 25 hours of community service and hope to get the charges dropped or end up taking a drug education program. I went to court twice, the first being my lawyer telling the court people that I can do 25 hours in 3 weeks. Well I ended up doing the 25 hours, went to court a second time and got my charges dropped.

Ents, please don't be like me and bring all your stuff with you especially in your car. Learned my lesson with this. Things would've been worse if I plead guilty.

TL;DR Got caught with tree, got charged with possession of less than 1/2 oz. plead not guilty, got a lawyer and went to court twice, charges got dropped.
