Messed up big time.

Hey guys, I need some help. I ordered new carpet to be installed in our new house and was in a rush to do it. I had the carpet rep send pictures of the different colors and styles over the phone. (Big mistake) He must of had a mini sun in his warehouse because the carpet looked soo much lighter in the pics but looking back I should of realized that. Anyways I came home to check it out and it's a real dark brown that my wife hates because it makes the house look dark and she thinks it looks like an "old people" house. Is there anything I can do to lighten up the rooms besides painting the walls and spending thousands of dollars in redoing the whole thing? Thanks for any advice.
